The Two Blues claimed the Cup in emphatic style at the weekends Mick “Whale” Curry Memorial 7s hosted by the Hamilton Hawks club in Newcastle.

The Two Blues men were in total control playing a clever tournament with explosive scores and composure to start the 7s campaign off in style.

Our colts also were tremendous reaching the Grand Final to suffer a narrow loss to a strong Gordon team showing great signs for the season ahead.

The tournament saw the launch of our women’s 7s program which featured an average age of 17 with the girls coming from the junior pathway of the catchments village clubs as the girls step up to premier level rugby and they excelled suffering one loss to eventual tournament winners and currently the strongest team on the sevens circuit Southern Districts before disposing of Nelsons Bay and then drawing 10-10 with tournament runner up Eastern Suburbs for a win, loss and a draw. Further several girls impressed enough to catch the eye of RA national program Talent ID staff.

A big congratulations to all the players, coaching and management team.
